Plywood and Veneer Sheets

Close-up of stacked plywood sheets with natural wood grain.

The international trade in plywood and veneer sheets is valued at around USD 21 billion p.a. When considering the total market, including domestic production and consumption, the market size is around three to four times greater.

Plywood and veneer sheets are utilised in the construction industry and in the manufacture of furniture products - therefore fluctuations in these markets can impact demand.  The global plywood market is expected to grow by around 5-6% over the next decade, with particularly strong demand emerging from Asia and the Middle East.

The market for veneer sheets is projected to grow by approximately 3% in the same timeframe.
